The Vision

Loving God in Solitude, Cell, and Celebration, and Loving our World

Core Values

The Bible is the living and dynamic Word of God. It is the final, complete, inspired and inerrant expression of God’s truth given to humanity. As such it is therefore the foundation of every ministry whether preaching, teaching, counselling or evangelizing. It is sufficient to answer any question, inform any decision, address any need, or bring comfort to any situation. We anticipate; therefore, that in meaningful contact with the Word of God, non-Christians will be saved and Christians will be profoundly impacted and transformed.
2 Tim. 2:15, 3:16, Heb. 4:12

All those who trust Jesus Christ as Saviour indwelt by the Holy Spirit and are therefore new creatures in Christ and as such are called to serve the Church as priests. The virtue of humility and a committed love for the Church which supersedes self are foundational to functioning as a priest in the Kingdom of God. Each believer is a gifted part of the body and is essential to the proper functioning and effectiveness of the body. All believers must serve and edify the body through their unique God given, spiritual gifts. Consequently, as we grow up in Him, we corporately validate the reality of the incarnation of Christ and reflect the reality of the presence of Christ to one another and the world.
Eph. 4:11 – 16, 1 Cor. 12, Phil.2:1 – 17, John 17: 22-23

Prayer is listening to and responding to God. This communion with God is the power resource under girding every relationship, ministry and initiative. It is fundamental to all that we do. We do not do anything before we pray. It is a barometer of our humility and our holiness.
Matt. 6: 1, 5 – 14, Matt. 7: 7 – 12, 1 Thess. 5:17

Corporate Worship is the regular discipline of the body of Christ gathering together for celebration, collectively expressing honour and praise to the Triune God. It is a relevant and contemporary expression of the church’s love for and appreciation of, the living God in our midst. The primary focus of Corporate Worship is God’s glory and not our immediate needs. We worship God together anticipating the palpable presence of Jesus manifest in our midst. In this collective attitude of worship He speaks to us primarily through the proclamation of His word and the act of expository biblical preaching. Corporate worship includes the opportunity for the church body to respond to the Spirit and the truth.
Ps. 150, 1 Cor. 14:22 – 25, Rev., 1 Cor. 11, Rom. 6, 2 Tim 4:1 – 8, Heb 10:25

Missions is a commitment to be instrumental in fulfilling the last and greatest command of Jesus to make all nations discipled nations. This is accomplished primarily through our commitment to the missionary enterprise of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada and around the world.

Godly Constituted Headship recognizes the Biblical requirement that the ruling elders in the church be godly men. It further recognizes their collective accountability to both Jesus, who is the head of the church and the church body for its governance, leadership and welfare. The elders stand as sentinels providing protection for the church by ensuring that doctrinal purity, unity and holiness are maintained.

Authentic Community is Holy Spirit engendered unity, fellowship and love between believers. It is a healing ethos of acceptance, forbearance and shared responsibility for one another, enjoyed within the body of the church and is a result of Christians relating to God and one another in a transparent, honest and open manner. It is an atmosphere enabled and nurtured through a proper understanding and application of the truth of the grace of God in Christ. It is rooted in personal humility and blossoms in an attitude of otherness that takes seriously the mandates to spur one another on to holiness and Christ likeness, to resist the legalistic traditions of men, and to confront one another in love as necessary.

Equipping leaders is the obligation of the local church. By identifying, mentoring and training leaders in the ministerial and theological context of the Living Hope Alliance Church, Christian leaders are equipped and empowered to effectively serve God both in lay capacities and also in vocational pastoral roles. It is inculcating and deliberately imprinting upon leaders our theology and philosophy of ministry, within this nurturing and formative environment.

It is an unwavering confidence in the effectiveness of the ministry of Christ through His Church to impact and ultimately transform culture wherever and whenever the Church acts and behaves in a manner consistent with Christ’s design for His Church.
